On October 21, 2016, The BC Teachers’ Federation’s 33 Provincial Specialist Associations (PSAs) hosted a wide range of excellent professional development conferences in communities across BC. These conferences are part of the BCTF’s ongoing commitment to enriching teacher-led professional development and lifelong learning. Every year, the PSA conferences bring teachers together to collaborate, learn, and improve their practice on a wide variety of topics that benefit them and their students.
Leading up to this year’s PSA day, BCTF President Glen Hansman said, “the BC Teachers’ Federation has a proud history of advancing professional development in BC and our Provincial Specialist Associations are an integral part of that. This teacher-led professional development approach enhances our practice and is a huge benefit to our students.”
The conferences touched on a very wide set of topics. A quick snapshot of some of the highlights shows the rich learning that was available in many different communities, including, Vancouver, Nanaimo, Langley, Kamloops, and Kelowna.
Teachers were of course sharing their experiences on twitter with the hashtag #PSAday.
